Compound Interest Formula
P= principal
amount (the initial amount you borrow or deposit)
r = annual
rate of interest (as a decimal)
t = number
of years the amount is deposited or borrowed for.
A = amount
of money accumulated after n years, including interest.
n = number
of times the interest is compounded per year
t in month= 12
t in day= 365
t in weeks=52
t in quarterly= 4
|
An amount of $1,500.00 is
deposited in a bank paying an annual interest rate of 4.3%, compounded quarterly.
What is the balance after 6 years?
|
P =
1500, r =
4.3/100 = 0.043, n = 4, t = 6

General forms of a sequence
Arithmetic---the same number is added or
subtracted from each element to get the next element in the sequence.
Examples---
3,7,11,15,19
Formula--- an
= a1 + (n – 1)d
Geometric----
the same number is multiplied or divided by each element to get the next
element in the sequence.
Examples----2,
6, 18, 54
Formula---
an = a1 .
r(n - 1)

domain-left/right
range-up/down
end
behavior
left-
x->-x < up= y->+∞ down= y->-∞
right- x -> +x< up=y-> -∞
down y->-∞
absolute max/min--- max=highest min=
lowest
local max/ min--- local max=largest
value within a given point local min= smallest value within a given point
interval of increase--- interval where
the function's slope is positive.
Interval of decrease--- interval where a function's slope is negative.
X intercept--- the point where the
line crosses the x axis
Y intercept--- the point where the
line crosses the y axis
Symmetry--- determining whether or not
the function is even or odd
Even--- symmetric across y axis
Odd--- symmetric
if you flip the negative part of the graph across the x-axis.
Neither--- not even or odd
Asymptotes--- a line that continually approaches a given
curve but does not meet it at any finite distance.
Function--- relationship between
values
One to one--- passes both the vertical line test and the
horizontal line test.
